Dr. Maurice A. Salama completed his undergraduate studies at the State University of New York at Binghamton in 1985, where he received his BS in Biology. Dr. Salama received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he later received his dual specialty certification in Orthodontics and Periodontics, as well as his implant training at the Branemark Center at Penn.
Dr. Salama is currently on the faculty of the Medical College of Georgia as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Periodontics.

Dr. Alexander Nguyen is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon in the Phoenix, AZ area and is the owner of a busy private practice.  He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA, and then completed a rigorous four-year oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the Carle Foundation Hospital in Champaign-Urbana, IL.

His training there included: full facial reconstruction from traumatic injuries, head and neck cancer ablation with reconstruction using local and free flaps, benign tumor and cyst management of the head and neck, cleft lip and palate repair, craniofacial surgeries on children and neonates with facial abnormalities, open tracheostomies for the Intensive Care Unit, corrective jaw (orthognathic) surgery, dentoalveolar and dental implant surgery with bone grafting, and delivering safe anesthesia to pediatric and adult patients.  In the office, he has taken an interest in full-arch dental implant rehabilitation and complex dental implant techniques, such as zygomatic and pterygoid implants.  With a firm belief in properly educating other providers, he has found a passion for teaching dental implant courses.

Along with being in the office, he practices the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery.  He has full hospital privileging and exercises it at multiple medical centers in the area, many of which are Level 1 Trauma Centers.  He is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Basic Life Support.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Fellow of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and Diplomate of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Abtin Shahriari has a plethora of experience in the field of oral maxillofacial surgery. After completing his undergraduate studies at Emory University, he chose to pursue a master’s degree in epidemiology and international health at Emory University Rollins School of Public Health. With his MPH degree, Dr. Shahriari worked in the international health arena through his work as an epidemiologist at the Center of Disease Control and Prevention and as a consultant for the World Health Organization working on the world-wide eradication of polio. He chose to pursue dentistry and completed his DMD degree at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, and later returned to his home state of Georgia to complete his oral maxillofacial surgery residency at Emory University . Dr. Abtin Shahriari is the medical director of the only oral surgery center in Georgia that is recognized by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. This prestigious accomplishment recognizes his offices for hospital-level safety for outpatient surgery and anesthesia. Dr. Abtin Shahriari is also a diplomat of the Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and a clinical assistant professor of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Georgia Regents University. His accomplishments have been featured in the media, in many research publications, and in book chapters. He has built up impressive private practices, yet still finds time to donate his expertise through his non-profit Project Global Smile and select pro bono cases in his local community. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family exploring the outdoors, going on new adventures, practicing yoga, and enjoying new cuisines.
